The authors of the study examined the genetic make-up of 106 samples of SARS-CoV-2, the name of the coronavirus which causes COVID-19, from a database. They compared these with 39 genome sequences of SARS, the virus which triggers severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and started an outbreak in 2002. The complete or near-complete data on SARS-CoV-2 spanned 54 records from the US., 35 form China, three from Spain, two for Brazil, and one each from Australia, Finland, India, Italy, Nepal, South Korea, and Sweden....

Day Shift was first announced by Netflix in October of 2020 and production took place in the summer of 2022. Netflix had previously released a photo from Day Shift, hinting at what to expect from the vampire hunting story. Today, the first official trailer finally dropped, a month before the film’s release date. Probably the most unique element of Starhawk, as compared to Warhawk, is its storyline. The game was revealed during Sony’s recent PlayStation 5 Showcase event, with Yoshida acknowledging the game’s graphics during a recent panel at TGS 2020. According to the producer, the Final Fantasy 16 trailer featured graphics comprised of real-time assets. Square Enix did not want to showcase a pre-rendered teaser, which may have given fans an incorrect impression of the game. For all its foibles, it remains an iconic piece of Final Fantasy 7’s history, which is likely why Square Enix is releasing a remastered version of Advent Children in 4K Ultra HD. Announced earlier today, it’s technically a re-release of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete, which itself was a Blu-Ray re-release director’s cut from 2009 that included new and expanded scenes. Square Enix states that this release will not only have 26 minutes of extra footage but also over 1000 revised scenes, and fans will be able to check it out starting June 8....

Director Tetsuya Nomura recently took part in an interview with Famitsu, where he gave more concrete details about certain elements of the title, including the new dialogue options and that the cross-dressing scene will return but be altered slightly. However, an online version of the interview has since been published and includes some extra information, particularly about the Materia system. Materia are items that can be equipped on weapons and gear to provide the characters extra buffs and abilities and, according to Nomura, this is something that will remain the same in the remake, despite the overall battle system being completely overhauled....

Nintendo leaker Zippo said a new Fire Emblem remake is almost finished with development. While leaks such as these should be taken with a grain of salt, there is a lot in its favor. The 3DS era saw a huge surge in Fire Emblem’s popularity thanks to Awakening, leading to Fates and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia; a remake of the NES game Fire Emblem Gaiden. After Three Houses released in 2019 it became the best-selling entry in the franchise, with DLC and Byleth’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros....

The whale has been seen in Puget Sound on at least six occasions since Sunday. The last time a beluga whale was seen in the area was in 1940. The first sighting came on October 3 from Central Puget Sound, the second from Point Defiance. The fourth was in Elliott Bay, West Seattle the following day, and the fifth in Bremerton Shipyard, according to the Orca Network. The organization posted a video of the first sighting by Jason Rogers and reported the sightings to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Center for Whale Research, and other experts....
