Heroes like Marth, Lyn, and Lucina take on a red aura—in contrast to their typical blue aura—and fight alongside enemies. One enemy even remarks that Emblems aren’t just for the protagonist to use and another can be seen putting on an Emblem Ring as Marth begins to become corrupted....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake released before the PS5 launched worldwide, so the game doesn’t take much advantage of the next-gen console’s power and capabilities, but Square Enix has announced that the title will be getting a PS5 version in June titled Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade that will have faster loading times, improved textures, improved lighting, quality of life features, a performance optimization mode, a new difficulty mode, and even a new photo mode....

That excitement, however, has been tempered somewhat by the nearness of the next generation of consoles. It’s unlikely that Square Enix ever intended for Final Fantasy Remake’s release to fall so close to the onset of new platforms, but the game’s ever-growing scope has led us to this point. Square Enix has opted to put out Final Fantasy 7 Remake before the new consoles arrive, but the obvious question remains as to what happens next....

Nobuo Uematsu, the original composer for Final Fantasy VII and every other game in the series up until Final Fantasy XII, has explained his level of involvement with the remake in a video interview. As it turns out, Uematsu will not be returning for the Final Fantasy VII remake at all, despite his original soundtrack being such an important part of the game. In the interview with French gaming site Jeux Video, the interviewer asked the Final Fantasy VII composer whether he was going to be working on the Final Fantasy VII remake....

With no official announcement, Square Enix has launched the game on both iTunes and the Google Play Store. The PC version is not available yet, but it is still slated for release in early 2016. It’s somewhat strange that the mobile versions are already available and the PC version is not, considering Square Enix only confirmed the PC version of FF9 for localization. In any case, it is currently selling at a discounted price of $17, and will be available for that price until February 21st....
