The Red Revival Stones in Fire Emblem Engage
In this Switch-exclusive title, red Revival Stones are what players will be used to seeing; these red stones break to give a unit another chance at life. They break on death, refilling the unit’s health to full again before disappearing. Players will have seen them even in the early chapters. Several units have one or more of these items. They look like this, just below a unit’s HP.

The Purple Revival Stones in Fire Emblem Engage
Beginning after Chapter 13 of Fire Emblem Engage, however, a new color begins to appear. They are so small that players might not have even noticed the change, but this is what the new gems look like:
When a Revival gem has turned purple like this, the unit the purple stone is on will berserk when it is broken. Purple stones can only be on units that have a Corrupted Emblem on them, like the Four Hounds generals and other Corrupted units.
Berserk is a status effect that makes enemies stronger. For example, in Chapter 20, Griss has purple gems on him; after he dies the first time, Griss gains Unholy Stance and Echo when he becomes berserk.
Knowing this can help tactical RPG players to plan their routing and strategies better. Players will want to keep an eye on multiple units with purple Revival Stones and try not to trigger them simultaneously, like in Chapter 19 when both Marni and Mauvier have these purple gems.
A unit can also have multiple purple Revival Stones, and they will be berserked each time they are brought back. Their berserk status does not increase at the end of each life, however, so players won’t ever have to worry about having to face units with a berserk level two.
Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
