The latest weekly ad for Target features Final Fantasy 7 inside of its video game section, which shouldn’t be too surprising. However, players who look a bit closer at the ad will notice that alongside the familiar blue PS4 box and $59.99 price point is that the game is also listed as being available on Xbox One. Currently, the title is exclusive to the PS4, so this listing could very well be a simple misprint.

However, this could also be Target accidentally posting the news ahead of an official announcement, something that fans are well aware of recently with PS5 pre-orders going live well before Sony intended them to. It seems that this ad could be more evidence that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake is indeed coming to Xbox One once the exclusivity deal runs its course.
Of course, there have been plenty of platform rumors swirling around Final Fantasy 7 Remake, long before its April release date. The PC has been a hot topic in the community as more and more evidence has seemingly piled up indicating a possible launch in the future. Dataminers unearthed PC code inside of the demo that released earlier this year, hinting that the PS4 exclusive would eventually arrive on other platforms. While Square Enix remains tight lipped on the matter, most fans are expecting at least a year of exclusivity, meaning PC and Xbox One wouldn’t likely get their hands on it until April 2021 at the earliest.
If Final Fantasy 7 Remake eventually arrives on other platforms, it’ll be interesting to see how that impacts the current PlayStation 5 console exclusive, Final Fantasy 16. It’s possible that the game could simply be another one year timed exclusive, giving Xbox Series X fans hope that it’ll eventually come to their platform of choice.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
