Aside from announcing Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s upgrade to the next-gen gaming console, Square Enix shared a lot of other exciting news about the game. One of FF7’s iconic female characters, Yuffie Kisaragi, will be given her own backstory in the recently announced DLC, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. In the DLC, fans will not only be able to meet Yuffie earlier than in the original game, but they will also be able to interact with new characters who were not part of the original Final Fantasy 7 story. Other news included in Sony’s State of Play featured two new mobile titles as part of the Final Fantasy 7 franchise, the battle royale mobile game named Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier, and a second mobile title named Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.

According to the company’s tweet, fans will be able to stream the official soundtrack online starting from February 26, 2021. Given the sheer amount of soundtracks available, according to the Apple Music site, it is likely that Square Enix has made the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Original Soundtrack Plus available to the different platforms’ subscribers. Fans will likely find this a great incentive to get on any of the platforms as the OST encompasses four CDs worth of music, and features some of the tracks that were not included in the game.
Given that no news about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 has been shared to the public recently, and with the game’s popular director Tetsuya Nomura taking a break from Part 2’s development, fans are likely looking for anything to curb their appetite for Final Fantasy 7. Hopefully with the launch of the Intergrade DLC and the online availability of the soundtrack, it will be enough to tide their cravings for the meantime.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now for PS4 and will be available for Ps5 on June 10, 2021.
