It was hinted that there would be multiple options for combat speed before, but now we see exactly how that works. Players can use regular attacks in either combat mode, but have the option to decide between entering Tactical Mode to slow down time or mapping special attacks and abilities to regular buttons. The Tactical Mode is meant to appeal to players who prefer the traditional JPR battle menu system of combat from the original game.

In addition to those options, players are also about to swap between characters with just the press of a button throughout any combat encounter. Combining this ability with Tactical Mode offers the chance for some really fantastic strategic opportunities throughout every battle.
