The recently launched virtual exhibit is likely part and parcel of Square Enix’s marketing plans for the milestone event. Earlier this year, the company revealed new logo designs for Final Fantasy 7’s 25th anniversary featuring iconic characters such as Cloud Strife, Zack Fair, and Sephiroth. The post also contained a short message telling the community to anticipate news about the franchise this year, likely sparking new fan theories and expectations for both possible Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs and the much awaited sequel of the remake.

On the official Japanese Twitter account of Final Fantasy 7, the team recently shared a link to the virtual fan art exhibit. Titled “Final Fantasy 7 Remake Gallery,” the virtual gallery has 40 original fan pieces displayed for the community to enjoy. Fans can view the exhibit on most platforms, though viewers will likely get a better experience on their desktops than mobile. The entrance of the exhibit has the new FF7 25th anniversary logo on one side, while a collage of artwork from the OG PlayStation title can be found on the other side. Background music featuring music from the original soundtrack from Final Fantasy 7 can also be toggled on and off.
The fan art exhibit has four rooms, and viewers can scroll through the different pieces manually or automatically. Most of the text in the gallery is in Japanese. However, fans of the series will likely enjoy the variety of artwork featuring their favorite Final Fantasy 7 characters. The theme of most of the pieces centers around well wishes and congratulations on the franchise reaching the incredible 25-year milestone.
For Square Enix, the virtual fan art exhibit is likely only the start of its year-long celebrations for Final Fantasy 7. Fans are probably hopeful that beyond themed merchandise and online activities like these, the developers will also drop big news such as the release date and time frame for FF7 Remake Part 2.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
