In a post on Reddit, a user known as Shred-the-Gnarnar shared a picture of a sword they recently finished based on Final Fantasy 7. Specifically, they had recreated the Enhance Sword used by Cloud in the RPG. In the picture, the sword hung from a wall next to a set of other weapons. This real-life version of the Enhance Sword shared many of the same features as its in-game counterpart. For example, it contained the same golden finish and had an emerald-colored dot placed near the hilt of the blade.

In addition to showcasing the Enhance Sword from Final Fantasy 7 in a picture, Shred-the-Gnarnar made a YouTube video detailing the creation of the weapon. In the tutorial, the creator showed the numerous steps involved in making the finished product. For example, it was revealed that the sword was sculpted from foam, while what looked to be a PVC pipe was used for the hilt. These elements were then painted to match the color scheme of the weapon seen in the RPG.

Since posting this picture of the Enhance Sword on Reddit, numerous members of the Final Fantasy community have taken notice. Many were impressed with not only this most recent build but also the entire collection of Final Fantasy 7 swords the Reddit user had created. In addition, fans noted that they were excited to see Shred-the-Gnarnar finish off the collection of swords seen in the game. “Really looking forwards to seeing Apocalypse and Organics,” XachMustel2 said. According to the creator, they had completed 11 designs and had 5 more left to go.

It is doubtlessly exciting for many nostalgic fans to see this Enhance Sword crafted in real life. However, Shred-the-Gnarnar is not the only one with a blade from Final Fantasy 7. For example, former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall previously revealed he had a full-size replica of the Buster Sword used by Cloud in the game. As players continue to show off their love for the Final Fantasy series through making impressive pieces of artwork, it will be interesting to see what creations are shared with the community next.

Final Fantasy 7 is available as a re-release on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Xbox One.
